Again and again I hear - like just now during a conference in Berlin - the argument that blockchain is not necessarily considered to be used because of the high energy demand caused by PoW and the resulting burden on the environment.
In my opinion, the advantages of decentralized systems will lie precisely in eliminating the problems of wasting resources.
