How have you prepared for this financial collapse?

Yes, I think your right. It’s sad to have to find ways to generate returns in unconventional ways, but these are times that far from conventional. I have been continuing my read by George Wilder, “Life After Google” The Fall of Big Data and the Rise of the Blockchain Economy. I read about Blockstack in the book and listened to the CEO talk about their business model and it compelled me to pick up some of the STX tokens recently. Anyway, it’s not financial advice, but just expressing my opinion. I also agree about the cash stockpile. I know what you mean about insurance…with blockchain, there will be a lot more verification and far less trust needing of trust to be in place. Wishing you the best.

Hi all,

The financial system was destined to crash from 2008. The virus was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. Now the Central banks and corrupt governments have something to blame and the less informed will believe it. Do not acquiesce to their draconian methods. Sorry, I just had to say the above first.

Anyway, keeping as much cash as possible in these difficult times is not easy, but you have to budget the best way you can. Gold, silver and crypto’s give you a hedge. Simple things like water, tinned food and health products and other storeable essentials is advisable. Maybe hoard some toilet paper (joke). Exercise!!!
Create a trusted neighborhood if you can, where by you can help and support each other, strength in numbers.

That is all folks

I see a a lot of people mentioning holding precious metals like gold and silver. But another more important precious metal (IMO) is steel and brass. I know a lot of you may not live in areas where you can own one, but having a firearm and the training to operate it proficiently when a real economic collapse happens is perhaps the most important investment you can make. If things collapse beyond just a recession. there will be times in places where commerce or barter may not be an option. By having the tools and skills, you can set yourself up to be prepared. And in those scenarios a single bullet could acquire you food, shelter, or even you save your or your love ones life.

Past that, having two weeks of mre (meals ready to eat) as well as life straws or other water purification systems. As for financial tools, obviously having bitcoin is a great idea, as well as monero and eth (I hold some ada because I like what they are doing)

Hi @Ulrich, thanks for the info. Do you really recommend junk US coins? They are worth so little. Sounds like bullion coins (value based on weight) are better than numismatic coins because numismatic coins are collector investments that may not get their premium value in times of economic hardship.

Unfortunately, Bullion Test app is not on iOS. I found an iOS app called “Precious Coin Tester.” However, I tested it with a real silver US quarter, and it did not register the coin as real. :frowning:

If anyone knows a good US seller for gold or silver coins, please share!

A bit of gold, silver. Crypto and learning how to grow food.

In these troubled times your best bet is to own land. Perhaps not the speculative kind. Rather the the productive kind. The one where you could survive on. Along with edible produce and fruit trees. Besides land and lets hope they won’t raise the taxes are vsluable jewelry including gold and silverware and precious stones. Antique jewelry and collectobles are highly prized and may be passed along generations. Gold bars and bullion are inmensely profitable as the price tends to increase in troublef times such as the present financial crisis and are a valuable hedge to the future. One drawback if you are not in physical possesion of these the possibity that it be confiscated increase. Above all precious metal is the newfound value of owning and hodling digital currency such as bitcoin in all its variants along with ethereum, well known altcoins privacy coins and of course stable coins for added liquidity. As fiat money is rapidly losing value. Crypto on the other hand soecificslly BTC is continuosly increasing its value and importance in todays troubled world.

I have known about this crash more than 3 years. So i prepared having by having my values like thsi

75% crypto
25% silver

Crypto is BTC, BCH, XRP, LTC, XMR, and DGB.

but for sure its going to be a ugly ride for all the sheepeople which have not prepared.

Holding silver, crypto currency, getting in shape. Taking this class…

In times of uncertainty the insurance is pointless :(. It will come down to who holds either the private keys or the physical metal.

Good advise man. Thanks!

Steel and brass are the guard dogs to your hodl positions ;). Here where I live, I can’t get a firearm without having to be listed on some kind of a register with the authorities. I’m not some kind of a criminal, but the folks that I know who own a firearm legally, say that it’s a huge pain in the ass to comply with all the yearly regulation.
What we CAN own legally here, are big bore PCP airguns. I own one in 7,62mm caliber and it’s “effective” up to 120meters and it has a multishot 9 round magazine. The airgun can fire up to 50 shots before refill and it’s as close to the power of a firearm as we can get here. The advantages are: You can legally put a silencer on it ( to make it whisper quiet ) and the ammo is dirt cheap and plentiful. Disadvantages are off course the price, need for maintenance and repair after 10000 shots and off course the need for a good quality scope.

Nice! How are you doing during the lockdown?

Land is very good. I have a bit of a beef with jewellery. It’s a very small and illiquid market. You will generally never get a good price for it. Therefor I stick with bullion coins ( and small bars ) and also non numismatic gold coins for the ease of transportation.

Good strategy man. I was preparing for a few years too. It’s gonna hit the people very hard. It’s quite bad to see that the folks never bothered to prepare and chose to live in ignorance. These are the people who will ( in times of crisis like now ) elect socialist governments and will chant out slogans to expropriate capital from the rich. I have a strong feeling that the new 3rd Reich ( at least here in Europe ) will rise under the flag of Extreme Leftwing Eco-Fascism with a subtone of depopulation in mind. Kinda distopian, but this is visible today.

Therefor it’s very important to keep a low profile at the moment. I have been preparing since 2011 and today I have almost no debt, I drive a modest looking car and I look like a hippy who doesn’t care about brand clothing. So I don’t arouse attention from the future fascists that will eventually come to power soon.

Tell me about socialism, I live in Denmark LOL… I have been working in the online marketing industry for 10 years now, but next to my slave job as sales guy in Copenhagen Airport. I was so lucky that I got fired due to (Certificaton of Vaccine ID). My plan is now to learn this skills here in blockchain programming and then immigrate to another country, my wife is from Philippines, but I would also love to live in Mexico or Florida, one thing is for sure, I need to leave this tax hell.

As a Belgian, I completely get your point. We have same situation here man.

I saw a video with a guy moving from Chicago to Florida, and when he told about the ISANE high taxes he paid in Chicago, which is nothing compere to what we pay in Denmark (we have 25% vat and 50% income tax, 150% tax on cars ect ect) I really realised that I need to move away from here. And yeah Belgium is maybe the same EU crazyness…

I’ve been thinking for years that our civilization is way too fragile. My wife and I bought a farm 2 years ago. We have cattle, fruit trees, a natural water source and water purification. Working on a garden this year. We need to get solar power up and running at some point too.

Out of stock market, in BTC to the extent that I can afford not to touch, working on growing the cash pile a bit. I’d like to get some physical silver. Paid off small debt, refinanced, etc. We’re also accumulating some basic medical supplies. I’m focused on getting super healthy and learning to code so that opens up options for making a living.

Thank you
I bought some gold and silver there and stored in their vault. Do you think this is advisable?
