Hi everyone, this course is exciting isn’t it? :grinning:
i need to pick your brains especially if anyone here is in the UK.
i’ve installed Metamask no probs, but cant add funds to it using my debit/credit card through the Wyre widget. it doesn’t appear to have an option for UK residents other than Ireland. That option doesn’t work for me as i am in the south of England. Anyone know of a way around this apart from the obvious transferring from another wallet.

Loving all of the classes I’ve taken in the academy. Last few days have been tedious and slow setting up wallets, email accounts, exchange accounts, browsers, vpn issues, and making several handwritten copies of important information. @amadeobrands

I’ve setup my MetaMask but can’t seem to transfer value when using ‘Directly from Ether’. I’m trying to transfer from my Eth wallet from on crypto.com. it keeps telling me ‘error invalid address’ which i can’t understand as the QR scans ok. Tried using Wyre but there isn’t an option to setup from the UK. I’m not quite sure how to do on coinswitch so haven’t tried (don’t fancy wreck city :grinning:)

Any ideas please?

I haven’t moved any currency into my Metamask yet, I wanted to get familiar with the best security before adding ETH. I found an article that mentioned some vulnerabilities so I held off from adding anything to it (link to article below). Mainly I’ve been working on setting up my nano ledger wallets and moving moving my currency out of Coinbase. At the moment I’m trying to get my backup wallet to be able to do transactions on the Ledger app I have downloaded on my computer, so far I can only perform transactions with one wallet.

The past couple of days I’ve been rather nervous as I try to check all of my security measures. LOTS of double checking and writing things down by hand multiple times. My VPN (ipvanish) won’t connect all of a sudden and I’m trying to get to the bottom of that.

It’s been stressful because this is new and I just want to make sure all of my currency is secure and that I don’t risk losing it out of my own stupidity. Things are getting better though, my main frustration is that this is slowing me down from diving back into my DeFi 101 lessons!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll defo have a read of those articles. You doing the right things. I moved everything out of Coinbase as well. Found it quite limiting in terms of analysis.

I figured out how to transfer funds soon after writing that message :point_up:t5:

With IPvanish I sometimes get that problem on my mobile and firestick… what works for me normally switch off the WiFi or reboot router for 10 mins (that clears ip addresses and any clogs) and then it works fine.

@amadeobrands I had some Ampleforth sent to my Metamask but I can find it in the wallet. Do you know if metamask supports the token and if not if there is a way to recover them?

Hey @York if you go to your list of tokens in MetaMask and scroll to the bottom there should be a button to “Add Token”

Click on that and then copy paste the contract address for the token which is: 0xD46bA6D942050d489DBd938a2C909A5d5039A161

You can confirm that address yourself by checking it out on etherscan here:

It should fill in the rest of the information you need after you put in the contract address.
