Sendign money to invalid addresses?

So I am in the process of moving all my money from coinbase to my ledger nano… obviously a bit nervous sometimes when transferring some balances from one to the other.

I wanted to see what would happen when I sent a small Bitcoin cash amount ($1) from my coinbase wallet to a wrong address so I sent it to a Bitcoin cash address . On coinbase it says the transaction is complete… so was wondering of anyone could explain that. There is no sign of the $1 in any of my ledger accounts

If you sent the BCH to a wrong address, it should be at that address since any hash of sufficient length/parameters is valid for a given blockchain. There is no reason the transaction would fail unless the address string were invalid for the blockchain’s hash function. Did you check the wrong address in a block explorer?
