With that said, however - oftentimes a tile-based game will have a particular feel or aesthetic which is noticeable to most gaming experts and developers. These are usually platform games, or top-down views like Pokemon Silver etc.

Developers use tilesets rather than redrawing the art every single time they want to develop out let’s say a new addition to the map or another scene, etc.
